Wet,wet,wet!

What a weekend! Still it Wimbledon fortnight so got to rain.

Andy V should have taken a canoe to the VTTA 25 champs on the E2/25 on Saturday which had to be abandoned due to torrential rain and flooding on the course. Ironically not a million miles away the BDCA 100 event on the A50/6 went ahead with three riders going under 1.40.00! The winner, Matt Botterill, set a new comp record of 1.34.43! That is five successive tens in 18.55!!!!!!!!!!!

Much nearer home Joe Varga rode the Bridlington CC ten mile event on the V415 Burton Fleming course winning the Junior award with 26.29. What a pity that more local riders do not support the events on this great little course , it will not give you a pb but is a real challenge with proper cycling talk rather than worries about power output and wind conditions! Give the events on the course a go, you will not regret it.

On Sunday Andy V ventured out again, this time to the Otley 50, but bed would have been a better call! The exposed V258 was never going to be easy in the windy conditions and so it proved! Andy plodded round in 2.18.46 against a relatively slow winning time of 1.46.38 by strong man Keith Murray.

To add further misery to the weekend Sundays Club run was abandoned due to the heavy rain and Humber Half Marathon runners blocking the path over the bridge!

See you all at Lumpy Lund for the Collinson handicap trophy ten on Tuesday night.
