Saturday afternoon saw the re-run of the Open 10 organised in June by Mark Philipson but which had to be postponed because of heavy rain.
Conditions this time around were some of the best of the season and many who were unable to ride will be kicking themselves.
Fastest on the day was team comp record holder Danny Barnett of Drag2Zero with 19.19. Junior rider James Falconer of Ferryhill Wh was runner up with 19.34 with another junior, Ben McIntosh three seconds further back in third place. Two other riders also dipped under the magic 20 min mark (30 mph).
Seven of our own riders made the start with ALEX RUSSELL just short of his best with 20.56. ANDY VAUGHAN just failed to achieve his aim of a 21 this time with 22.08, just 20 seconds ahead of MARK SYMONS’ 22.28. MIKE McLEAVY got round in 21.29 not quite a minute ahead of organiser, MARK PHILIPSONS 23.27. GARY BREARLY rode to a solid 25.24 ahead of TONY WASHBROOK with 26.12.
Many thanks to all those who once again supported the event in the many areas that often go unseen in ensuring these events run so well.
