After the spectacle of the National 10 on the V718 / 1 which saw no less than 86 riders go at 30mph+ and the top four under 17 minutes along with team comp record being smashed its time to play catch up as best I can with Club activities.
Tony Washbrook finished second in the Ten League this year as he defended his title of last season only being outscored by a young schoolgirl.
One or two have been looking for decent 25 times. Mike McLeavy got down to 62.16 in the Seacroft event on the A19 whilst Andy Vaughan topped all his times this year with 57.53 in the Stone Wheelers event on the J5/8.
Nic Fairfield has made a return to the RTTC Series and gained a solid fourth spot at the weekend in the Para Cycling event run in conjunction with the national Circuit Championships.
Joe Varga tackled his first 50 mtt in the YCF event on the V259/1 and ended with a great time of 2.07.09 for a pb and one of the fastest times in the Club this year.
Best result to report was from the Team Swift Slowest 150 event on the V718, Hull Drag. Alex Russell, in his first ride on the course, won the event with a fantastic time of 20.20! John Barnard powered round in a great pb of 22.24, which won his group, and James Murphy a pb 23.03. Yours truly, riding my first event since the bionic hip job, eased round in 24.46.
The two Club reliability rides organised by Ken Bateman with Les Phillips was a very enjoyable event which, although supported by low numbers due to a clash with a Sportive, was well worth the effort. Thanks to all those involved in any aspect of the event.
Last weeks first round of the CRC / CLIFF PRATT CYCLO CROSS series was a great success. Club riders entered included Will Faichney, Joe Faichney and James Quigley. More support from Club members to help marshal and set up the event is needed though. Check the dates and give your support.
If I have missed anyone my apologies but folks need to contact me if results are to be reported in the Club site.
