Once again it was our own promotion on the V718 that dominated events over the Easter weekend with a full field of 150 fast riders taking on the challenge of the super fast ‘Hull Drag’ over ten miles.
Seven of our own riders took part with Jason Young just missing the magic 19 minute ride with a fine 20.01. Dave Hudson, making a return to testing, rode to a fine 21.18 just one second faster than Steve Carrigane 21.19. Andy Faichney showing some fine form since the cross season produced a very satisfying ride of 21.55 only one second slower than Norman Griffins 21.54. Mark Philipson, still searching for good form, came home in 23.22 with Andy Vaughan blooding his new PX with a steady ride of 23.44.
The ladies event was won by Aysa Vahiboglu of Exeter Wheelers in 22.21 whilst Team Swifts Andy Jackson took the mens by two seconds with 19.10.
A big thank you to all those who assisted in any way with this promotion which is rapidly becoming a must ride early event on this course.
On Saturday Andy Vaughan rode the Sleaford Wheelers Charity 10 on a course significantly slower than the V718 and, like mast riders, went back with a time of 26.17.
A reminder that this weeks event on the Beverley Bye Pass is still an early start time.
