Well I suppose I set myself up for it but what a shock to the systems! For Jason and myself a get up at 04.00 and a drive to Dalton Village Hall [ Topcliffe] for Jasons first 100 mile TT! Just like the 'old days' with silly o'clock starts. Prior to the start Jase was full of trepidation re his decission to ride 100 miles - as for me I was ok - only acting as support [ more sense than to ride 100!!!] Relativelly cool and still from the start but the wind gradually built and made the return two legs from Osmotherly back to Topcliffe hard. After the second DC lap [60 miles] target time of 4 hrs looked to be well on but the two shorter laps, over rough and rolling single carriageway to the East of Topcliffe, took their toll on all riders. Jason finished with a great 4hr 09m 45s to the winners 3hr 58m 09s [Lee Tunnicliffe]. Nic Sparks was the only other rider under on the day. Unless anyone else takes up the challenge that has sealed the Club Male BAR for this season. As a first 100 this event was quite a challenge but after a cuppa and a bun thoughts were moving towards the Team Swift 100 later in the season on a full DC course! A sub 4 hr ride will certainly be on the cards then!
Every Wednesday night 7-9pm there will be grass tracking for kids at the Sirius Academy Pickering Road, run by Andrew Faichney.
