Busy but mixed week.

Quite a bit of activity this week with mixed results.

Tuesday club event on SKIDBY saw a great ride from Alex Russell take the scalps of Adam Jordan, Leven Lad Carrigan and Jase Young. Well done Alex.

Wednesdays activities moved to our Open promotion on the V718 where early rain eased to enable  another fine City Road  Club promotion to take place. MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED IN ANY WAY.

Ten riders went under the magical 20 minutes with A. Gascogne of Pedal Power winning in 19.23. The ladies event was a really close event with clarinet, or rather Clarice, Chung of Twickenham CC and Abby Mae Parkinson, RST, tied on 22.19.

We had seven from the Club riding. Leven Lad produced the best time with 21.37 followed by Foston Flyer Hudson in 22.10. Andy V  timed in with 22.28 ahead of Nic Fairfields 22.47 and X Man McLeavy with 22.56. Fastest man on paper, Mark Symons, still looking for his form of old got round in 23.02 with Mark P, still not on top form, touring round in 23.43!

Friday night was the ever popular Beverley Town Centre Criterium. Only Club rider was Craig Medcalf in the 3/4 cat race. The pace was electric from the start and certainly a shock to Craig’s legs as, despite a valiant effort, called time before the end.

Saturdays Wolds RT open 10 on the V718 was a complete washout for the 180 riders with constant rain causing excessive amounts of standing surface water making cancellation the only sensible decision.

Over the weekend Steve Carrigan and James Murphy rode the two day Tour of Yorkshire for charity and despite a serious drenching had a good time.image

Only other event was the VTTA 25 being organised by Andy V. Early morning mist after a nights heavy rain caused a delay in starting but X Man McLeavy will be pleased it was not cancelled as he managed to beat the hour with 59.58. Well done Mike. This event was won by local, Joel Wainman, in 49.35.

On Tuesday 22nd we are on the Driffield hard riders 25. Meet outside North Beverley Medical Practice on Woodall Way.
